If your pancakes did something strange, tell me what happened and I will try to work out why. Most of the troubleshooting on this site came from exactly that kind of message, so a description of what went wrong is genuinely useful rather than a nuisance.

What I can help with

• Pancakes that went wrong. Tell me what the batter looked like, what pan you used and roughly what heat setting. Those three details usually identify the problem.
• Substitutions I have not covered. If you need to swap something for an allergy or a dietary reason and cannot find it on the site, ask.
• Corrections. If a measurement, a time or a temperature looks wrong, please say so. Corrections go straight onto the page.
• Permissions. Reprinting, translating or teaching from the recipe — happy to discuss, just ask first.

What I cannot help with

I do not accept guest posts, sponsored placements or paid links, and I do not review products. I also cannot give dietary or medical advice, including advice about allergies — please read the disclaimer and check ingredient labels yourself.

What to include

For anything to do with a batch that went wrong, four details solve it almost every time: what the batter looked like when you stopped mixing, how long you rested it, what pan you cooked in, and whether the first pancake came out paler or darker than the ones after it. A photograph of the batter in the bowl is worth several paragraphs of description, so send one if you have it.

It also helps to know what you changed, if anything. Substitutions are not a confession — half the useful troubleshooting on this site exists because somebody swapped the milk, the flour or the eggs and told me what happened next.

The fastest route is email: hello@fluffypancakerecipe.com. I read everything and reply to most messages within two working days. Weekends are slower, mostly because they are spent making pancakes.

If a question turns out to be one that lots of people are asking, it usually ends up as a new guide or a new line in the questions section on the recipe page. I will always say so before quoting anything you wrote, and I never publish names or email addresses.
